Debashish Bhatttacharya started his career as a freelance journalist with The Telegraph and some other Indian media after doing his MA in English Literature from Presidency College, Calcutta University. He had a parallel journey of creative writing too.
He was Information Officer, British High Commission, responsible for branding and public relations for British government as well as British Council, their commercial, technological, educational activities and events in the Eastern Indian states, 1985-92.
Moving on to corporate world he led the corporate branding for Chloride and Ispat group, 1992-1995.
In 1996 he entered the emerging domain of IT and headed branding as well as managed human resource for companies with global presence.
He has worked as communication and media consultant for Indian Chamber of Commerce, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC), Omegagenesis (a US based Nanomedicine firm), ICA (education & training), CES (Engineering & Architecture) etc.
Debashish managed the publicity and branding of the event Destination West Bengal, jointly organized by WBIDC and Indian Chamber of Commerce in 1999.
He has worked for a long time as a regular contributor to BBC and other media.
Debashish has a passion for communication in its totality and is a speaker in many corporate forums of excellence.
He has authored a collection of poems and a novel.
